Maria Ramey
Maria began playing the flute at age nine and immediately became very active in various music groups and solo performances. Three years later she was invited to perform at the National Flute Association Convention to demonstrate E.F. Dean flutes, performing both for their clinic and at the E.F. Dean booth. She won a spot in the Bakersfield Youth Symphony at age thirteen, began playing regularly with the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra at age sixteen, and also began giving flute lessons that same year.
Maria has won several scholarship awards and solo competitions and has also been invited often to perform at clinics, demonstrations and in other settings. She has performed live on both radio and television broadcasts. Her preferred musical setting is the orchestral one and she has performed with numerous orchestras, both as a soloist and as principal flute. She often performs on the piccolo as well. She has also performed in the premiering and recording of several works.
Maria is currently active in several music ensembles and is the first call import flutist with both the Bakersfield Symphony and the Tulare County Symphony. She also plays piccolo with the Culver City Symphony, the Marina del Rey Summer Symphony and the Carson City Symphony. She performs professionally on a regular basis throughout the LA County as well as traveling to other areas throughout California. She also teaches private lessons and sectional masterclasses in Santa Clarita and Northridge, California and is continuing her own studies with David Shostac, Principal Flute of the L.A. Chamber Orchestra. Maria is also a member of Sigma Alpha Iota, a National Music Fraternity dedicated to encouraging music education and performance throughout the world.

Ryan began playing the french horn at the age of ten after switching from drums in the fourth grade. Ryan always loved the sound of the horn and was a self-taught musician for many years. Around the age of 16 he started taking music seriously and began to progress quickly in his horn playing. Ryan has participated in many honor bands and orchestras and has played live on television. He has also performed with many professional orchestras.
Ryan currently is the Principal Horn of both the CSU Northridge Orchestra and Wind Ensemble where he is a music performance major. He also performs with the Master's College Wind Ensemble. Ryan's current horn teachers are Bill Lane, David Hoover and John Mason. Ryan also performs as an import/utility horn with the Bakersfield Symphony Orchestra along with many other Orchestras from the L.A. area to the Central Valley.

Ryan and Maria Ramey met when they were both members of the Bakersfield Youth Symphony Orchestra for several years. They have continued to perform together both in ensembles/orchestras and as duet partners in many venues ever since. They also have three children, ages 8, 5 and 9 months. Their oldest, Autumn, plays the harp; and their second, Tristan, plays the oboe with plans to play the english horn.
