Grace Mita

Grace Mita is a violist and emerging music educator currently studying Creative Arts Enterprise with a concentration in Music at Fitchburg State University. She performs with the Lowell Philharmonic Orchestra and participates in Fitchburg State’s Chamber Choir and Modern Jazz Band.

At Fitchburg State, Grace serves as President of the Fitchburg State Choirs student organization and previously served as President of Falcon Bands. She has been singing in choirs for ten years and has recently expanded her musical interests to include solo vocal repertoire.

Piano is Grace’s second instrument, which she began studying in high school. While she hopes to pursue a career directing orchestral and/or choral ensembles at the university level, she enjoys working with students of all ages and in a variety of learning settings, from individual lessons to the classroom. Grace has a particular love for film and television music and plans to feature this repertoire prominently in her senior recital.

As a teacher, Grace’s goal is to help students develop a genuine excitement for music while building a strong foundation in technique, music reading, and notation. She encourages students to explore the styles and musical interests that inspire them, using those interests as a starting point for developing their skills and confidence.

Grace credits the mentors, instructors, and educators who have supported her throughout her musical journey with inspiring her own passion for music and teaching. She hopes to offer her students that same sense of encouragement and inspiration as they develop their own musical voices.
